Who needs a new Kanye West DVD when VH1 gets him to do performances like this? VH1 Storytellers: Kanye West debuts Saturday, Feb. 28 at 9 p.m., but they posted this video clip of “Stronger” a few hours ago. If it’s any indication of the show, it will be amazing.
The song features a brand new arrangement, different from both the studio version and the Glow In The Dark Tour version.
During the verses, the song is stripped down, with Kanye’s two percussionists doing only the bass drum parts. When the chorus hits, the entire band chimes in, and it sounds beautiful.
This video clip also let’s us see his band arrangement. He has the Glow tour setup of two percussionists, a DJ, a bassist, a guitarist, a keyboardist, a vocoder and synthesizer player, and two backup vocalists (Tony Williams and Joi Starr). Additionally, he has a string section, which his previous tours had, but recent tours ommitted.
If this is any indication of Kanye’s upcoming tour, ‘Ye vs. The Volcano, then we are in for a treat.
