Wow. Talk about being seven years behind. I finally got through the first season of The Wire, and now I’m commited to another 47 episodes.
The writing is top notch, the attention to detail is amazing, the complexity of the characters makes you both love and loath many of them.
I can go on and on about how awesome McNulty is, or how Wallace is an angel amongst devils, or how Omar was a breakthrough character for sexuality and gender roles. But then I would just be taking time away that I could be using to watch the show.
I’ll report back when I’m done with season 2…

when Danny found out about this show (beginning of 4th season, so I guess I can’t really say anything about you being late) he scooped up seasons 1-3 right away and watched them all in 2 days. Took me a week to watch seasons 1-3.
oh and when you’re done with that, pick up the HBO miniseries Generation Kill, from the creators of the Wire.
