As part of GDC 2009, Activision and Infinity Ward debuted the trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (which came out in 2007 and is not to be confused with Treyarch’s 2008 game, Call of Duty: World at War). Call of Duty: World at War (2008)
Call of Duty: World at War was developed by Treyarch, which is the bastard step-brother of Call of Duty series creator Infinity Ward. So when the masses found out that Treyarch developed the sequel to Infinity’s highly succesful COD4: Modern Warfare, they felt daddy Activision had pushed them into a claymore.
But no need to fear, World at War is every bit as satisfying as its precursor, despite the change in creator. Continue reading
