Harmonix has given us many good things. They created the Guitar Hero series (way before Activision and Neversoft neutered it). They gave us Rock Band. They’re giving us The Beatles: Rock Band in September. But next week, they bring us the funk.
Rock Funk Band? Not quite. But the March 17 batch of downloadable songs for Rock Band (1 and 2) includes the Get the Funk Out 01 track pack.
Included in the pack:
- “Pick Up The Pieces” by The Average White Band
- “Shining Star” by Earth, Wind & Fire
- “Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine – Pt. 1” by James Brown
Each song will cost $2 in Microsoft or Sony’s respective foreign currency, or $5 for the pack of three songs.
The funk music pack is part of Harmonix’s bigger goal to include various genres of music in the Rock Bandgames. Country music packs are already available for download, and it has been confirmed that Snoop Dogg songs will be available soon, too.
