The ever prolific Kanye West released the video for “Welcome to Heartbreak” a few hours ago on his blog. The song, which features up-and-comer Kid Cudi, is the third video released from 808s and Heartbreak.
The “Welcome To Heartbreak” video manages to be bleak and colorful at the same time. The overly pixelated video turns visual feedback into art. Musically, the song has a few changes from the studio version (as is often the case with Kanye’s videos), and represents the third incarnation of the song to hit the public (the first version, not on the album, is still my favorite).
Despite having a video, the song is not technically a single. On the taping for Kanye’s VH1 Storytellers show (which airs Saturday, Feb. 28), Kanye mentioned “Paranoid,” “Robocop,” “See You In My Nightmares,” and “Say You Will” as potential third singles.
But in the end, it seems “Amazing,” which features Young Jeezy, will be the official third single.
