The Roots performed in Miami Beach on Oct. 8, 2008 and had one of the most bizarre surprises I’ve seen at any of their shows: Lil Wayne.
So how did Weezy sound with The Roots backing him?
Thanks to Dave at It’s All The Way Live, we have a great recording of The Roots backing Weezy for “A Milli.” A yes, that’s ?uestlove drumming AND saying those “A Milli”s… essentially doing the whole beat himself.
Of course the audience went absolutely crazy, which is probably something that could only happen in Miami. I mean, how many people are big fans of both The Roots AND Weezy?
