Beastie Boys weren’t the musical guests. But thanks to Jimmy Fallon’s coaxing (he’s a huge fan), he convinced them to rock “So What’cha Want” with The Roots. And the resulting performance was spectacular.
The Beasties were on to promote their upcoming festival appearances, as well as as the recent re-release of their third album, Check Your Head.
The Roots must have been in on Fallon’s intents, considering they nailed the song perfectly. The Beasties didn’t look too enthused (especially MCA), but they played along for the audience’s sake.
